Leaving a Legacy

On Sunday Brian and I had the privilege to go to a surprise party for my Pop-Pop Miller (my Mother's Dad) to celebrate his 80th birthday. What a blessing to be able to honor and bless my Pop-Pop for the life that he has lived and the influence that he has had over the years on his family. Along with my Pop-pop and Nana their 4 children (2 sons, 2 daughters) and their spouses were there, along with us grandchildren (11 in all) along with 8 of our spouses and 2 fiance's (my little brother Matt is the only non-married/engaged grandchild), and the newest addition to the Miller family, Ryan (my cousin's 6 week old) ... who is the 7th GREAT-grandchild to my Pop-pop and Nana (#8 is due in Jan. from another cousin!). So when you add up everyone, that makes 39 people! Although the great-grandchildren weren't present (except baby Ryan), what a blessing it was to spend time with my Mom's entire family thanking God for this man who loves the Lord with all his heart. We thank God for my Pop-Pop's influence on his children that they have then passed onto us grandchildren, and now that we get to pass onto our children, their great-grandchilren. My Pop-pop has not only influenced lives in his family and friends around him, but as well he and my Nana have spent numerous years over past years in Zambia, Africa as missionaries and have a 2nd family that love them as dearly as we do there. They sacrificially serve others and freely give of themselves to serve others humbly and in love. Pop-pop (and Nana!) ... we love you and thank God for you!!

Here is a picture of the entire Miller gang (minus the great-grandchildren)

Thanks for the great report, Sarah! It sure is a blessing to have a Father who is finishing well, and to see the legacy of godliness he is leaving for the rest of us, during his golden years. What a testimony to God's faithfulness in our family!
