Tea Party

My Dad's Church hosted a mother/daughter tea for the ladies in their church and so Hailey and I went with my Mom. My Nana and Grandma were both there too, so it was a lot of fun. The ladies in the church signed up to bring things ... decorations for your table, fruit salad, veggie tray, sandwiches, and a cake. The program for the evening included a Mother and her two daughters singing, a young girl from my Dad's church dancing, and something called "chalk talk." This involved an artist doing a chalk drawing while listening to a recording called Seasons of Life. She and different family members talked about the different seasons of life while she chalked. There was also some music played as well ... it was incredible to see her piece of art come to life. She started with a blank canvas, and when she was done it looked like this ...

There were also some volunteers who had set up places to have pictures taken of each group of ladies ... we don't have the ones of all 5 of us yet, but I did have my camera and so I got some pics of me and Hailey, and as well with Mom later in the evening ...

Hailey had a great time and loved being my girly girl! And back at the house, Dad even managed to care for Justin and Sydney (along with their cousin Ryle who was there too!). This week my Mom is keeping the 3 oldest grandchildren (Hailey, Justin and Ryle) for a few days to get her "Mimi fix" before leaving for Africa on Tuesday. We're spending the upcoming weekend with my family to gather one last time before they leave.

Later this afternoon Brian and I are heading to Ocean City, NJ for the rest of the day to hang out with friends who are vacationing there for the week!
